What are benchtop bandsaws? They are the smallest of the
power tools and it can be mounted on a work table, a cabinet, a stand or on
your shop-made stand. These benchtop bandsaws are lightweight with a wheel
diameter of 8” to 12”. However, these bandsaws are made for moderate to small
projects. You can have these kinds of bandsaws for small workshops.
The main feature for this type of bandsaw is that the motor
is mounted directly to the unit and there’s no belt system under the table and
with its lightweight and small size, there are no exceptions like the 12” jet
and 14” shop fox.
For years, the bench top bandsaws we’re made with the three
wheel design but these models are now phased out. The thing about the
three-wheel saw, it offers the widest throat in the least amount of space, but
the only drawback was its design such as:
·
Alignment of Wheel
·
Tracking of blades
·
And for some, Premature Blade wear
